There's much to be excited about this year for this program. Brooks Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville have supported the health of their adaptive athletes for 20 years. This proud program just won their first championship.
This program was started by Sherrod Nelson who has much to do with the team's success. They made it to the championship round in 2016, three years after the program started. Their program serves adults and juniors.
This program was started in the early 1990s and has been supported by Miami Dade County and the Miami Heat for nearly 30 years. The program has developed elite and professional adaptive athletes, and is the focus of the award-winning movie "THE REBOUND." The program serves all adaptive athletes.
Orlando Magic Wheels has been a leader in the FWBC for decades. They were the first team to win a championship for the conference in the most elite NWBA division. The current program serves recreational players and juniors.
Tampa is supported by Hillsborough County and is one of the premier programs in the NWBA. Their coach Wayne Bozeman runs other adaptive sport programs to keep the athletes in shape year round. The program has produced many star adaptive athletes and is open to all. The Strong Dogs won their first championship in 2020.
